In this section we hope to provide answers to some of the questions most frequently asked by our visitors. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

  • When is the museum open?

    Our opening hours can be found on our opening hours and prices page. Keep an eye on the website for possible special opening hours on the day of your visit.

  • Should I queue?

    When the maximum capacity of our exhibition room or building is reached, queues may form both outside and in front of our exhibition room. The queue applies for all visitors. We strive to give the best indication of the waiting time at the premises.

    With an e-ticket or a Museum Card, you needn't go through the cash desk. However, these admission tickets do not grant you priority at possible queues outside and in front of the exhibition room.

  • When is the Mauritshuis typically less crowded?

    We recommend you to plan your visit to the Mauritshuis after 3 pm, on Monday afternoon or on Thursday evening to avoid the crowd. 

  • May I visit the Mauritshuis with a Museum Card or other discount cards?

    Museum Card bearers can visit the Mauritshuis for free and access our exhibitions without surcharge. Museum Cards may also be purchased at the cash desk of the Mauritshuis.

  • Is the Mauritshuis wheelchair-accessible?

    The Mauritshuis is accessible to everyone. Please refer to our comprehensive information page for visitors with disabilities.

  • Is the Girl with a Pearl Earring currently on display? What about all the other major works?

    Major works such as the Girl with a Pearl Earring and the View of Delft are usually on display at all times. If important paintings are to be lent, we will announce this well ahead of time in the loans overview on our website.

If you have not received your e-ticket after ordering it, your e-tickets might be in the spam folder in your mailbox, please check this folder first. If your e-ticket isn't there, please contact the Mauritshuis via mail@mauritshuis.nl.

  • Is it possible to get married at the Mauritshuis?

    The Mauritshuis is not a wedding location. However, wedding pictures may be taken in the Mauritshuis. For more information, please contact mail@mauritshuis.nl.

  • May I contact you regarding the valuation/restoration of my painting?

    The Mauritshuis doesn't offer valuations or restorations for private individuals. If you would like more information about your artwork, please contact the RKD (The Netherlands Institute for Art History).

  • Is it possible to order products from the Museum Shop?

    Yes it is. For more information, please contact shop@mauritshuis.nl.
