The Christmas holidays start at the Mauritshuis! The atmosphere in the museum is magical. You’ll arrive to a warm welcome with an many small Christmas trees. Enjoy a fun day out with the whole family. There are daily workshops and an exploration quest through the museum. Maurits Mouse will be happy to show you his favourite paintings like the Girl with a Pearl Earring or learn how to make your own Selfportrait like Rembrandt!

Maurits Mouse and Rembrandt (4+)
Did you know that there is a mouse living in the Mauritshuis museum? His name is Maurits Mouse and he has lived an exciting adventure with the famous painter Rembrandt. During the programme, you will observe his favourite paintings, read the picture book Maurits Mouse & Rembrandt together, and even make your own painting.
- Age: for children from 4 to 6 years old (accompaniment by an adult is required)
- Time: 10:30 - 12:00 am

- Price: €7.50 per person (children and adults) + valid museum entrance ticket. Children up to the age of 18 always have free access to the museum.
Self-portrait (7+)
Rembrandt was the selfieking of the 17th century. He made more than 80 self-portraits. Together with a museum docent, you will view a very special self-portrait of Rembrandt that is usually only on display in New York. Then you get to work with paint, brushes and, of course, a mirror, to create a portrait of yourself.
