In a year where COVID-19 has completed turn the world upside down, the Mauritshuis has not rested on its laurels. We have worked very hard to keep our museum open, to the widest-possible audience. You can read how this was achieved in the Annual report 2020.

Over the course of the last year, the Mauritshuis has seen tens of thousands of people taking a tour of the museum at the same time and asking questions online; fascinating discussions among young visual artists, reflecting on our collection and a complete horse’s skeleton on display.
On the other hand, microphones were accidentally muted during online meetings, maintenance of the museum was irregular and procedures for welcoming our visitors were complicated.
