The International Friends of the Mauritshuis are delighted to invite you to their first event for 2026/27 – an excursion to Fenix Museum in Rotterdam. Opening in 2025, Fenix is continuing to stun visitors with its bold new perspective on migration through its world-class collection of art spanning 500 years. The groundbreaking museum is housed in a spectacularly redesigned historic warehouse, featuring a stunning double spiral Tornado staircase. Fenix delves deeply into the global migration experience through such artworks as Afghan Girl by Steve McCurry and Portrait of Desiderius Erasmus by Hans Holbein the Younger.

Our visit will begin with refreshments, then a curator’s introductory lecture about Fenix, its vision and its art. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to explore the collection at our leisure.
