The Dutch government believes it's important that as many people as possible in the Netherlands have access to culture. Museums play a vital role in this. We preserve the treasures of the past in our museums. We ensure they remain beautiful. And in our museums, everyone can come and admire these treasures. The Mauritshuis manages part of the National Collection.
To do this effectively, the Mauritshuis, like 25 other museums, receives support from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
