The Mauritshuis has been in existence for over two hundred years and has grown into a place where art, history and inspiration come together. A visit to our museum is always special. Not only because of world-famous paintings such as Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring or Rembrandt’s last Self-Portrait, but also because of the stories that bring our masterpieces to life. Our home, the historic city palace on the Hofvijver, requires care and attention. Every day, we work with love to preserve our collection and the building, so that everyone – young and old – can continue to enjoy them now and in the future.
