The support of funds and foundations helps us to realise exceptional projects. From realising an exhibition to purchasing a painting. But funds have also helped us to provide many educational projects.

Overview of all the funds that support Mauritshuis

The Rembrandt Society

The Rembrandt Society helps museums acquire unique art. This ensures that unique paintings can remain in the Netherlands. The Rembrandt Society has been doing this for 130 years. Did you know that the Mauritshuis was the first museum supported by the Rembrandt Society? There are now over 50 paintings in the Mauritshuis purchased with their help. Famous acquisitions include Laughing Boy by Frans Hals, As the Old Sing, So Pipe the Young by Jan Steen, and Portrait of an Elderly Man by Rembrandt.
