Almost everyone knows Johannes Vermeer's quiet interiors and that one Little Street. Few people know that the artist Jacobus Vrel (working c. 1640 -1660) was already producing scenes of this kind before Vermeer. In the exhibition Vrel, Forerunner of Vermeer, the Mauritshuis shares the story behind this mysterious painter.

On this page you will find press releases issued about the exhibition. You will also find images of the exhibition.
