Prinsjesdag (Prince's Day)

The third Tuesday in September, is Prinsjesdag (Prince's Day) in the Netherlands. On that day, the King delivers the so-called Troonrede (King's Speech) in the Hall of Knights in the Binnenhof in The Hague.

On Prince's Day (Tuesday 18 September) the Mauritshuis opens 3 pm - 6 pm. Our Prince William V Gallery is open 12 pm - 5 pm.

One of the highlights of Prince's Day is the Royal procession through the centre of The Hague. Due to this procession the Mauritshuis can be difficult to reach. The Municipality of The Hague advises against driving to The Hague’s city centre on Prince's Day.
