Get inspired at the Mauritshuis

Are you considering an original workshop in the centre of The Hague? An inspiring company outing? Or a company training event at a special location? We offer a wide range of unique options at the Mauritshuis. Of course, we also like to think along with you about tailor-made programs.

Workshop Painting Together

We would love to challenge you to paint together. These activity starts with a guided tour past a few of the highlights from the Mauritshuis collection, such as Vermeers Girl with the Pearl Earring, Still Life with Cheeses, Almonds and Pretzels by Clara Peeters and Rembrandts The Anatomy Lesson. Afterwards, your guests have gained plenty of inspiration, so come sit down behind an easel in the Art Room for a painting workshop! Will you follow in the footsteps of Rembrandt or will you paint each other’s portrait? Or would you rather paint a food still life like Clara Peeters?

Workshop Observe the Observer

With this program portraits are the main focus. Participants will, under the watchful eye of one of our guides, look at famous portraits by well known painters from the 17th century. After this, participants get to work in the Art Room with a different art form; photography. Participants will create portrait photos of each other and learn the effects of viewpoint, cropping and composition.

Internationals Tour: Finding your way in a new country

Arriving in a new country can be exciting. Maybe someone shows you around, shares handy tips, and helps you get started. But once you know the basics, do you really feel at home?

Maybe not entirely. You might still be missing a few important puzzle pieces, and those are often found in the past. We help you put those pieces in the right place through our inspiring paintings.

During this tour, we take you through the history of the Netherlands. We don’t shy away from the clichés, but we also shine a light on unexpected stories. That way, we hope you’ll not only gain a better understanding of our collection, but of the Netherlands itself.

Duration: 90 minutes
Cost: €150 per 15 people, excluding museum admission (maximum 15 people)

Special tours

A tour by one of our tour guides is the perfect way to discover the Mauritshuis. The sky is the limit! In addition to the standard guided tours about the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions, you can also consider a guided tour about a specific theme.
