From 1 January 2026, you can visit the Mauritshuis every day at a reduced rate from 4 to 6pm. For the last two hours of the day, admission is only €4. Reduced rate tickets are on sale at our ticket office. The Mauritshuis is the first Dutch museum to offer this special ticket price, seven days a week. It’s our way of giving more people a chance to enjoy our amazing collection.

How does the €4 admission after 4pm work?

Who is it for?

This reduced rate applies to all visitors living in the Netherlands. You can visit with up to four people. Are you under the age of 19? Then you already have free admission to Girl with a Pearl Earring, our 11 Rembrandts and The Goldfinch during all opening hours.

Where can you buy reduced rate tickets?

The affordable €4 ticket is on sale at the Mauritshuis ticket office between 4 and 5.30pm. Reduced rate tickets are not bookable online. You can visit the museum until 6pm. You can’t use discount cards with this reduced rate. Admission is always free if you have a membership card. The reduced rate does not apply in the Prince William V Gallery.

Until when?

This special offer runs until 30 June 2026. Hope to see you soon at the museum before or after 4pm!

A museum visit for everyone

Enjoying art does wonders for your mental health. More and more scientific studies say so. Even our own neuro-research showed that looking at art in real life provides an emotional experience that’s 10x stronger than looking at a reproduction. We’re committed to making this experience accessible to everyone! As a museum, we want everyone to feel welcome.
