The International Friends are delighted to invite you to a special bonus event this October, celebrating the creativity of young people in The Hague, and showcasing one of the community projects supported by the Mauritshuis Education Department through the Mauritshuis Palette Project.
Meet the Art Tigers
During the autumn vacation, a group of primary-school children from the Transvaal neighbourhood and surrounding areas of The Hague will join the Art Tigers. The week-long project encourages children to experiment with landscape, still life and portraiture, and learn how 17th-century artists represented the world around them. Inspired by the art and techniques of the past, the Art Tigers will observe and depict their community through their own eyes.
At the end of the week, their artworks will be exhibited at the Mandelaplein Community Centre. We have been invited to meet the Art Tigers, view their exhibition and celebrate their achievements.
