Celebrate the May holiday at the Mauritshuis! This time we are offering fun activities around our brand new exhibition BIRDS - Curated by The Goldfinch & Simon Schama.
There are plenty of things for children to do and experience at the Mauritshuis. For example, there are free audiotours or you can discover the museum with Maurits Mouse.
Children up to the age of 18 always have free admission to the museum.
Maurits Mouse and the bizarre birds
The Goldfinch has disappeared! Maurits has searched far and wide, but cannot find his best friend. Suddenly Maurits hears ducks quack, storks clatter, geese honk, thrushes sing and pigeons coo. ‘Come along, Maurits’ the Goldfinch chirps cheerfully, ‘and meet my flock of bizarre birds.’ In this program you will visit the exhibitionist Birds together with Maurits and learn everything about the colorful world of birds. Afterwards you will decorate your own binoculars in our atelier, which you can take home afterwards.

Age: for children between 4-6 years old (parental supervision is mandatory)
Cost: € 8,50 per person (children and adults require separate tickets). If you’re planning to visit the museum after the workshop, you will need a valid entry ticket.

Open Art Workshop
Every Sunday and selected dates during school holidays, we host free workshops in our Art Workshop for visitors aged 0 to 99. All workshops are inspired by the exhibition BIRDS – Curated by The Goldfinch & Simon Schama, so everything revolves around birds! Create your own migratory bird, make a street art Goldfinch, or paint a bird. Will you be flying by too?

Price: the workshops are free of charge.
Everyone is welcome, from ages 0 to 99. Adults aged 18 and over require a museum ticket.
The Art Workshop is open from 1:15 PM to 4:15 PM. Feel free to drop in!
The Bird Spotting Trail
Prefer to head out on your own? Then pick up the Bird Spotting Route at the Service Desk in the Mauritshuis foyer! Can you fnd all the birds on this scavenger hunt? They are hidden throughout the permanent collection of the Mauritshuis and in the Prince William V Gallery.
Children up to age 18 always enjoy free admission to the Mauritshuis and the Gallery.
