The Mauritshuis and Nationale-Nederlanden are bringing art out into the open! Across the streets of The Hague, six street artists have created striking murals, each inspired by a masterpiece from the Mauritshuis collection. These Mauritshuis Murals can be admired free of charge by anyone exploring the city—whether on foot or on the run. Art and running actually have more in common than you might think: both boost your energy and leave you feeling happier.
That’s why the Mauritshuis, together with its partner Nationale-Nederlanden, also known as the title sponsor of events such as the NN CPC Run The Hague and the NN Marathon The Hague, has developed a series of running routes that take you past the murals. Three routes are available, covering approximately 5, 10 and 15 kilometres. Each route passes several murals, while the 15 km route takes you past all of the Mauritshuis Murals. You can download the routes here and import them into your navigation app or sports watch, or simply use them as inspiration to create your own route through the city. So lace up your running shoes and discover the murals at your own pace.
