Recent Rembrandt Restorations
The Mauritshuis has one of the largest and most important collections of Rembrandts in the world. Ten paintings offer a splendid survey of Rembrandt’s artistic virtuosity, from his early Simeon’s song of praise of 1631 to his renowned Self-Portrait made in the year of his death 1669. Recently the Mauritshuis has restored three masterpieces by Holland’s greatest master. A presentation of these restorations was on show in the summer of 2006.
