About Latanya Alberto

Multi-talented artist Latanya Alberto began making music and performing for audiences at a young age. At 18, she wrote poetry that served as the basis for her songs. Her style is best described as a fusion of R&B, jazz, and electronic music. In Latanya's words, it is "distinctive and romantic." These qualities perfectly complement a summer track. Her music is not only pleasing to the ear but also touches the soul, with meaningful lyrics about social injustice, feminism, and cultural awareness.

In 2018, she released her debut EP Ruminate immediately establishing her signature sound: unique soulful tones, mellow vibes, and poetic lyrics. The release of her third EP The Royal Escape in 2021 opened doors to exciting collaborations and opportunities. In the same year, Latanya performed live at Eurosonic Noorderslag, graced the COLORS platform twice, and shared the stage with the Metropole Orchestra on multiple occasions. Latanya's presence can be seen in various magazines, from i-D and Metal to Clash and Equate. She is a rising talent leaving her mark on the music industry and swiftly captivating the hearts of her fans.

The visit

NN North Sea Jazz Festival

On Sunday, July 9, 2023, the NN North Sea Jazz Festival will be transformed into one grand celebration of support and collaboration. At the same time, the dream of NN talent Latanya Alberto will come true. On July 9, she will have the opportunity to step onto the NN North Sea Jazz stage, allowing her to show her talent on a grand scale and offer support to her fans. Latanya's success is not solely attributed to her own talent and dedication. The support of her family, friends, and manager has helped her reach where she is today. Now, it is time to give back that support to her fans and society.

"I want to show myself and others what can be achieved with ideas and concepts, and how we can push boundaries in creating something that doesn't exist yet. I want to demonstrate how as an independent artist, but also as an individual within our society, we can accomplish a great deal. I also use my platform to address societal issues such as mental health and female empowerment." - Latanya Alberto.

About Icarus Atlanticus: Allegory of the Working Man

When Lataster painted this ceiling in 1987, he was intimidated by the thought that he was surrounded by such great masters as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Rubens. There was a danger of becoming too proud, though. Lataster saw just one way to prevent his own downfall: hard work. In this colourful and expressive ceiling, he therefore incorporated blue work trousers, work shoes and a spade. As a reward, Lataster imagined a sandwich with strawberry jam – which he also painted.
